Bridge & Causeway Project Update
Work on the Route 52 Bridge/Causeway onto the island is continuing. The construction company promises the roadway will be open during the Summer Season. For official updates, click here.
Winter Projects at the Scarborough
Every year we re-decorate several Guest Rooms to help insure our guest’s continued comfort and pleasure. This may include basics like new mattresses, painting and repair, or new bedding and décor. The rooms on this year’s “To-Do List” include: Sonnet, Sweet Thymes, Ashleigh, Cafagiola, Chelsea, and Primavera. We hope you enjoy the results!
Bob has also been industriously painting the exterior of the building and is currently re-painting the closets – ALL of the closets! The hallway walls are his next mission.
Researching the Scarborough’s “Genealogy”
Sadly, most information about the Inn’s origins has been lost over time. We know that the building was constructed about 1895 or 1898 and this year we are making an attempt to recover additional facts and recollections about this historic structure.
We are contacting previous owners of the Scarborough and asking them to send us information, memories, and photographs. If and when we receive these items, they will be collected on the website and preserved for posterity.
Many guests have been visiting the Scarborough their entire lives. If you are one of them and have anecdotes or photographs you would like to contribute, please send them to the inn c/o Carol. We would appreciate your interest and participation!
