The Scarborough Inn Bed & Breakfast is literally the “Cat’s Meow.” Collectors will recognize “Cat’s Meow” as the name of a collection of two-dimensional wooden keepsakes that commemorate “…significant structures, points of interest, and historic locations around the world.”
The Scarborough Inn was the first Ocean City B&B immortalized by the Ohio company (although others have been added since) that has been crafting these souvenirs for 24 years. Every genuine Cat’s Meow keepsake features a kitty silhouette of Casper somewhere on the front of the object.
For Jersey Shore vacationers, a Scarborough Inn B&B “Cat’s Meow” miniature is a perfect, inexpensive souvenir (less than $20.00) and available at The Cricket Box, 704 Asbury Avenue in Downtown Ocean City. Scarborough guests find that our downtown shopping district is an easy stroll from the Inn and features over 100 unique shops, galleries, and restaurants – many open daily year round!
According to Merriam-Webster, the phrase “the cat’s meow” dates from the roaring 20’s and refers to a “highly admired person or thing.”
