What could be better than the opportunity to select delectable “Jersey Fresh” fruits and vegetables directly from our local Farmer’s Market* – right in the heart of Downtown Ocean City?
On Saturday morning, we went to the Farmer’s Market (walking up hill both ways, I swear), took our own canvas market basket (points for being “green”), and selected Gala and Winesap apples, potatoes, zucchini, sweet peppers, and local honey (all fresh, healthy options). I’m thinking homemade applesauce laced with cinnamon and sweetened with that Jersey honey. Tastes delicious and smells wonderful while it’s bubbling away on the stove!
Then, we were feeling so virtuous that we stopped for an early lunch at Jon & Patty’s Coffee Bar & Bistro at 637 Asbury Avenue (Ocean City). We shared “Alex’s Killer Quesadilla” which included chicken, peppers, onions, fresh diced tomatoes, avocado, and cheddar on a whole wheat wrap. Guacamole, salsa, and sour cream came on the side in little plastic cups. We ate outdoors because it was a lovely, sunny Fall morning.
Scarborough Inn B&B guests enjoy the inn’s close proximity to Downtown Ocean City – just about three blocks away from our Historic District neighborhood. During your Ocean City vacation, enjoy more than our beautiful Beach (rated #1) and exciting Boardwalk for a varied experience around town!
