DINING IN CAPE MAY COUNTY: “The Old Grange Restaurant by Tony Clark”

“The Old Grange Restaurant by Tony Clark

The Old Grange Restaurant by Tony Clark in located in a 100-year old grange hall that is situated in Historic Cold Spring Village.  This makes for a unique setting in southern Cape May County for fine dining.  And the dining is FINE!  From the historic environment, to the friendly and professional service, to the inspired food, our recent experience was memorable!

Our 5-course meal included a choice of soup, salad, entree, family-style side dishes, and dessert.  We were happy to learn that many dishes were based on and/or included local, seasonal ingredients – always a plus.  Of course, this also means that menu choices vary.

Everyone in our party selected different options and everyone was most enthusiastic about their choices. To give you a specific idea about the food, here’s what I enjoyed on a recent visit:

Amuse-Bouche (a secret, but it was good!)
New Jersey Clam Chowder (with local tomatoes & asparagus)
Roasted Beet Salad (with arugula & goat cheese)
Grilled Filet with garnish
Family-style Sides (roasted potatoes, broccoli rabe, corn off the cob with butter sauce)
Poached NJ Peach

We brought a bottle of French rose with us (BYO) to begin the meal and purchased a lovely red wine from HAWK HAVEN WINERY to accompany our entrees.

The restaurant is about 40-minutes from the Scarborough Inn – our guests could combine a day in Historic Cold Spring Village with a delightful dinner at “The Old Grange Restaurant” for a unique and perfect Cape May County experience!
