The new Ocean City Welcome Center, located on the Route 52 Bridge-Causeway onto the island, has an amazing array of attributes and amenities!  Designed to resemble an historic seashore cottage, it rises high above the marshes and wetlands at the entrance to Ocean City.

Naturally, it is a convenient place to stop for information when arriving for a vacation getaway in “America’s Greatest Family Resort.”  But the Welcome Center has quickly become a destination in-and-of-itself!  For example, it offers, fishing and boating opportunities, great spots for bird watching, and a 12-foot wide multi-use pathway for walking and jogging.

View over the Intracoastal Waterway

Visitors and residents can enjoy wraparound porches that circle the building and provide expansive views of the island and the Intracoastal Waterway. Informational signs scattered around the property focus on topics like: the history of Ocean City; the historic bridge; and birds of New Jersey.

Entrance Span onto the Island

After dark, the arching spans of the bridge closest to Ocean City are lit with colored lights.  The changing colors transform it into a fascinating sight silhouetted against the Western sky. It is truly an amazing place to visit next time you’re a guest at the Scarborough Inn!

INNsider Tip: The entrance to the Welcome Center is right after you drive past the building on RT 52 heading into Ocean City – slow down and watch for signs.
